Company worth $100 million which owns nothing more than a Paulsboro deli to merge with bioplastics firm

Hometown International, a $100 million company which owns nothing more than the unprofitable Hometown Deli in Paulsboro, will merge with Makamer, a private California-based bioplastics firm. But the sandwich shop at 541 Mantua Ave. won’t be operated by the new company and it’s unclear if the store will remain open. Merging with another firm has been a long-term goal for Hometown, which has operated the deli since 2015 and been publicly traded since 2019.
