Dredging of Schuylkill River to resume this summer with $13 million in funding

The dredging of the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia will resume in July 2022 with $13 million in funding, including federal infrastructure spending and money from a previous fundraiser for the project. The Schuylkill River is home to some of the region’s most high-profile regattas and supports a strong rowing community. Efforts to dredge the waterway during the pandemic ran into complications, but a new contractor has been selected and plans are set to move forward over the summer.
