Early school dismissals in Philly extended through Friday as heat wave persists

Due to an ongoing heat wave, the School District of Philadelphia has extended early dismissals to 86 schools without air conditioning or proper cooling for the remainder of the week. Temperatures are expected to hit 96 degrees on Thursday and 93 degrees on Friday. Students returned from summer break on Tuesday.
