Ex-Philly homicide detective found guilty of sexually assaulting witnesses

Philip Nordo, a former Philadelphia homicide detective, was found guilty on June 1 of rape, sexual assault, corruption and other offenses for his conduct with witnesses and suspects involved in his investigations. The case against the veteran cop has led to the review of 62 homicide convictions which Nordo had been involved in investigating, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office said. After the trial, District Attorney Larry Krasner said it’s likely Nordo had more than three victims and that he’s partly responsible for several wrongful convictions. Krasner called Nordo’s actions ‘jaw-dropping and deeply shameful.’
