John Burkhart, the former officer in charge of the Lancaster County Drug Task Force, faces multiple criminal charges connected to the alleged theft of approximately $200,000 in seized money, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office. Burkhart, a retired Lancaster City police officer, allegedly stole funds that were seized during drug investigations and held as evidence pending prosecution and legal forfeiture.
