Gov. Murphy pushes to expand abortion rights in New Jersey following leaked Supreme Court draft opinion

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy announced proposed expansions to the state’s abortion laws on Wednesday. The provisions were ultimately left out of the final, signed version of the Freedom of Reproductive Choice Act, which enshrined abortion rights into state law in January. These include private insurance funding for abortion, protection from legal retaliation for out-of-state abortion seekers, and increased resources for uninsured people seeking abortions.
