Grocery store food shortages in Philly region could be compounded by impending winter storm

With a winter storm approaching the Philadelphia region this weekend, food shortages and empty shelves at grocery stores are likely to get worse. Shoppers are advised to be flexible, patient and not overbuy products when making trips to the supermarket to stock up. Winter weather is expected to compound food shortages caused by pandemic-related supply chain issues, labor constraints and COVID-19 infections due to the omicron variant.
