Lewd police-training conference in Atlantic City could threaten criminal prosecutions, attorneys warn

A watchdog’s report last week accused instructors for New Jersey’s busiest police training firm of teaching unconstitutional and discriminatory policing tactics. Attorneys expect criminal cases could topple across the state in the wake of the report. Bergen County prosecutors have already dropped charges in a drug case involving Brad Gilmore, a Street Cop trainer whose lectures were cited as problematic by acting State Comptroller Kevin Walsh. Gilmore was a Ridgefield Park police officer in 2017 when he stopped a car and found two kilograms of heroin in a hidden compartment.
