Mother of teen attacked on SEPTA subway calls for improved transit safety

The safety of SEPTA’s transit system was the focus of a Philadelphia City Council hearing featuring testimony from Yun Lin Chen, the mother of an 18-year-old student attacked on the Broad Street Line. The student, Christina Yu, was beaten when she attempted to intervene in an altercation between two groups of teenagers.
