Olde Bar, previously opened by Jose Garces at the historic Old Original Bookbinder’s location, shuts down both its bar and restaurant operations
After serving as a popular bar and restaurant in the Old Original Bookbinder’s oyster saloon, Jose Garces’ Olde Bar has decided to end its regular service as of Saturday, Nov. 9. However, the location will still be available for catering and events. The decision to transition the venue from a restaurant to a catering and events space comes from the Garces Group, aiming to focus on hosting private events and large gatherings. Despite its closure as a restaurant, the Olde Bar will continue to serve as a historical and iconic location in Philadelphia, offering its unique and charming atmosphere for special occasions. Patrons who have enjoyed the Olde Bar in the past can still experience its charm and hospitality by booking it for their private events and celebrations. The venue remains a valuable part of Philadelphia’s dining and entertainment scene, and its transition to catering and events will provide a new opportunity for guests to experience its rich history and ambiance in a different capacity.
