Pa. bill to study of psilocybin – the drug in magic mushrooms – as mental health treatment languishes in Harrisburg



Republican state Rep. Tracy Pennycuick, of Montgomery County, introduced a bill that would allow researchers to study psilocybin, the psychedelic drug in magic mushrooms, as a mental health treatment. Psilocybin is one of several psychedelic mental health treatments, including ketamine and MDMA, that researchers are looking at to treat depression, PTSD, anxiety, OCD, and more. Pennycuick is veteran who has PTSD.
