Philly, Pa. suburbs could face beer shortage as distributors union strikes ahead of July Fourth

Teamster Local 830, the union representing workers for beer distributors in the Philadelphia region, voted this weekend to go on strike after turning down a proposed contract from the Delaware Valley Importers Distribution Association. The strike, led by workers for three companies — Penn Beer, Origlio Beverage, and Muller Inc. — could result in shortages of big brand domestic beers for the Fourth of July holiday if the labor dispute isn’t resolved.
