Philly police, city were 'simply not prepared' for George Floyd protests, audit finds



An independent audit of Philadelphia’s response to the George Floyd protests determined that the police and city were inadequately prepared for the spontaneous nature of civil unrest, leading to poor strategic operations and unjustified use of force against demonstrators. A 110-page report from the audit offers recommendations on how to improve the city’s response to future events and institute suggested reforms.
