Philly's red bus-only lane seeks to reduce traffic congestion, improve transit reliability

Philadelphia unveiled its first red bus-only lane earlier this month along Chestnut Street between Broad and 2nd streets. The city, in partnership with SEPTA and PennDOT, hopes to expand to other parts of the city by the end of the year. Red bus lanes and dedicated transit lanes are meant to help reduce traffic congestion and improve reliability.
