Proposal for battery-powered train linking West Chester to SEPTA line gets support from borough's leaders

West Chester Council Borough unanimously approved a resolution for SEPTA and Chester County to study the possibility of using battery-powered trains to re-establish a better link between West Chester and Philadelphia. The $16 million proposal calls for a shuttle service between West Chester and SEPTA’s newly opened Wawa Station in Delaware County, where passengers would transfer to SEPTA’s Regional Rail line to get to Center City.
