School District of Philadelphia suing the city over building safety requirement law

School District of Philadelphia filed a lawsuit against the city over a new special certificate of an inspection law. Under the law, one-third of the district’s school building will be inspected for hazards such as asbestos and lead paint, with another third inspected in 2024 and the final third by 2025. The district says the legislation could be threatening to open schools.
