South Jersey historic sites could receive portion of $15.8 million in state funding for preservation efforts

Over 20 historic sites in South Jersey could receive a portion of $15.8 million in state grant funding to support preservation and heritage tourism efforts. The most notable sites to receive funding include Lucy the Elephant in Margate, the Walt Whitman House in Camden, and the U.S.S. New Jersey. The funding must be approved by the Garden State Preservation Trust, the state legislature, and Gov. Phil Murphy before it can be distributed.
