Summer Event Series cancelled by Philly councilmember amid increase in gun violence

Philadelphia City Councilmember Cindy Bass has cancelled the remainder of her annual Summer Event Series due to safety concerns caused by an increase in gun violence. In a tweet on Wednesday, Bass said she is working to come up with alternatives. The event series began in June and was supposed to run through Aug. 31.
