Violent crime in U.S., overall, dipped in 2022 despite rise in hate crimes, carjackings

The FBI’s annual crime report shows an overall decrease in violent crime in America, which has returned to pre-pandemic levels. Property crimes, like car thefts and carjackings, have increased, as have hate crimes.
