Al Scmidt, a former Philadelphia City Commissioner, testified at Monday’s hearing before the U.S. House Select Committee on the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection. Schmidt received threats in the weeks following the 2020 presidential election after former President Donald Trump singled him out in a tweet falsely alleging voter fraud. Monday’s hearings included testimony from long-time Trump ally and former campaign manager Bill Stepian, former Fox News political editor Chris Stirewalt, elections attorney Benjamin Ginsburg and former Atlanta federal prosecutor BJay Pak.
