Grand Lux Cafe to close at King of Prussia Mall



The Grand Lux Cafe will close at the King of Prussia Mall at the end of January 2022 after six years at the location. The restaurant is owned by The Cheesecake Factory, which also has a restaurant at suburban Philadelphia mall, along with North Italia, another Cheesecake Factory property. The last day for the Grand Lux Cafe, 160 N. Gulph Rd., will be Jan. 31.

Man charged with setting Bucks County house fire that killed roommate's father



Christopher Gillie, 61, of Lackawanna County, allegedly stole his roommate’s car and used it to drive to her parents’ home in Bucks County, where he started a fire on Sunday morning that killed her father, 81-year-old Julius Drelick, prosecutors said. Phyllis Drelick managed to escape the home, but could not help her husband, whose disability prevented him from leaving when the fire short-circuited a chairlift. Gillie is charged with homicide and multiple related offenses in the incident.

Philly Commerce Director Michael Rashid resigns after allegations of anti-Semitism and 'toxic' workplace claims



Michael Rashid, director of the Philadelphia Department of Commerce, resigned from leading the department Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021. Recently there has been controversy about Rashid’s toxic management of the department, inflammatory social media posts and anti-Semitic remarks. Mayor James Kenney confirmed Rashid’s resignation in a press release.
