Getting paid to pick up litter in Philadelphia: There's an app for that



A new app called Glitter will allow you to report litter on your block and pay someone to pick it up every week. Created by local tech company MilkCrate in partnership with “Ya Fav Trashman” Terrill Haigler, Glitter is currently available for Android users on the Google Play Store and is in the process of getting approved for iOS users on Apple’s App Store.

BASE jumpers filmed parachuting off new Rittenhouse luxury high-rise



Three BASE jumpers were filmed parachuting down from a luxury high-rise apartment building in the ritzy Rittenhouse neighborhood of Philadelphia. The footage was filmed by restaurant manager Candace Skinner, who was stunned when she saw the descending daredevils from her rooftop deck in Center City.

Philly's indoor face mask requirement returns at midnight Thursday



Everyone entering businesses and other indoor public spaces in Philadelphia will be required to wear face masks, effective midnight, Thursday, Aug. 12. An exception to mask mandate are businesses with policies requiring patrons to show proof they have received their COVID-19 vaccination shots prior to entry. Fully inoculated people, carrying their vaccination cards, can go maskless in those businesses.

2021 Eagles Autism Challenge raises more than $2.7 million for autism research and care



The Eagles Autism Foundation announced
that the 2021 Eagles Autism Challenge presented by Lincoln Financial Group
raised more than $2.7 million for autism research and care, thanks to
donors from 15 countries, 1,850 participants, and 12,819 donations. One
hundred percent of the participant-raised funds will be directed to
groundbreaking autism research and programs.
