William Penn statue will not be removed from Philly's Welcome Park, NPS says



The National Park Service is seeking the public’s input on plans to remove the statue of William Penn from Welcome Park in Old City and rehabilitate the park with a new more “inclusive” design that pays homage to Native American history on the site of Penn’s former home.

Woman dies after being found 'hanging' from gate near Xfinity Live!, police say



A woman died after being found “hanging” from an iron gate Saturday at the sports complex in South Philly, police say. The 48-year-old woman was found early Saturday morning near sports bar Xfinity Live! with wounds on her hands and feet consistent with the gate, police say. No foul play is suspected at this time, authorities say.
