Bucks County mom who faked her own kidnapping 13 years ago charged with wire fraud

Bonnie Sweeten, 51, formerly of Bucks County, is facing wire fraud charges for an alleged scheme to steal money from her employer in Delanco, Burlington County, where she’d been hired as a bookkeeper. In 2009, Sweeten made national headlines after faking her and her daughter’s kidnapping when she was actually in Disney World. She was later sentenced to eight years in prison for fraud.
