Erie County woman killed in shark attack while vacationing in Bahamas

A 58-year-old woman from Erie County, Pennsylvania was killed by bull shark while snorkeling in the Bahamas on Tuesday, police said. She has been identified as Caroline DiPlacido, for Millcreek. Her husband and two children where nearby when the shark attacked and they reportedly helped pull her out of the water. Royal Caribbean International said that the woman was transported to a nearby hospital after sustaining injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after.
