Former New Jersey Senate President Steve Sweeney suing to regain seat on redistricting commission



Former New Jersey Senate President Steve Sweeney has filed a lawsuit claiming he was illegally removed from the state’s Apportionment Commission, which handles the redistricting process. Oral arguments in the suit are expected to begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Sweeney, a Democrat, lost his Senate seat after being upset in the 2021 election by Republican Ed Durr.
