Former Philly mayor Michael Nutter to lead first U.S. Treasury racial equity committee



Michael Nutter, former mayor of Philadelphia and professor of urban and public affairs at Columbia University, was tapped by the U.S. Treasury Department to lead its first advisory committee on racial equity. The group of 25 academics, advocates, and government officials will identify barriers to economic participation among communities of color and provide recommendations to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
