New Jersey bills seek to expand abortion rights in wake of Supreme Court decision

Two bills in the New Jersey state Assembly seek to expand access and affordability of abortion. One would expand provider training and require abortion care to be covered on state insurance plans, while the other would establish New Jersey as a ‘sanctuary state’ for abortion, providing protections for those seeking reproductive care from states with restrictive abortion laws in the wake of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.
