Philadelphia was growing prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that's no longer the case

Pennsylvania and its largest city, Philadelphia, have been shrinking since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. But there are some pockets of the state, including Chester and Montgomery counties, that are still experiencing growth. The population losses are part of the U.S. trends of people fleeing cities and moving to the South and West.
