Portion of Schuylkill River Trail to remain closed until late June due to construction delays

A stretch of the Schuylkill River Trail from Walnut Street to Market Street will remain shut down until late June due to subsurface obstructions in the river bank that are preventing completion of planned structural repairs to the foundation of the Chestnut Street Bridge’s retaining wall, PennDOT said. The popular pedestrian and bicycle path was expected to reopen at Chestnut Street in late May.
