Trailer filled with $750,000 in dimes targeted in theft outside Walmart in Northeast Philly, police say

Police are investigating the theft of an estimated $100,000 in dimes stolen from a trailer that was parked overnight outside of a Walmart in Northeast Philadelphia. The trailer, which had about $750,000 in dimes inside, had been left in the parking lot by a truck driver who picked up a shipment of the coins from the U.S. Mint on Wednesday. In the lot along Byberry Road, thousands of dimes were found scattered on Thursday morning. An investigation into the theft is ongoing.
