Wolf proposes natural gas tax again – this time to fund Pennsylvania economic development post-COVID-19

Implementing an extraction tax upon Pennsylvania’s natural gas industry would provide the state with $3 billion in economic development funding over the next 10 years, Gov. Tom Wolf said Monday as he made his case for the Back to Work PA initiative. Wolf said that a severance tax would provide the state with about $300 million per year over the next decade to reinvest into Pennsylvania’s economy in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
