Man found not guilty of killing Philly police commander's son at FDR Park



A jury has found Tyquan Atkinson, 22, not guilty of all charges related to the killing of Nicholas Flacco at FDR Park in South Philly in March 2019. Flacco, a 20-year-old Penn State student and son of Philadelphia police commander Christopher Flacco, was shot while tailgating after a Phillies game.

South Jersey woman allegedly tried to avert a traffic stop with report of fake shooting, police say



Katelynne Lynn-Fisher, 35, of Lindenwold allegedly called 911 to report a fake shooting at the Millbridge Gardens apartment complex Monday afternoon to avoid a traffic stop in Gloucester Township. She has been charged with filing a false police report and obstruction of justice.

Aldi to open second location in South Philly as part of Quartermaster campus redevelopment



Aldi has signed a lease to open a 22,000-square-foot grocery store at the Quartermaster campus in the Girard Estates section of South Philadelphia this year. The German-based grocer is expected to break ground on its 12th location in the city over the next two months and open by the end of 2022.
