N.J. becomes third state allowing drivers to present electronic vehicle registration at traffic stops



New Jersey motorists will soon be permitted to present an electronic copy of one’s vehicle registration to a police officer or judge when requested, according to a new state law. The new measure, which will take effect in the next 18 months, will allow drivers to show their vehicle registration on a smartphone or tablet, rather than just a physical copy of the document.
