Rite Aid's new corporate offices at Philly Navy Yard will be meeting space for remote workforce



Some Rite Aid employees soon will call South Philly home, but only occasionally. The drugstore chain is relocating its corporate offices from Camp Hill, Cumberland County, to the Philadelphia Navy Yard, where it is creating an office space that caters to its new corporate strategy of remote work. Rite Aid reportedly has leased about 25% of a 92,000 square-foot building at 1200 Intrepid Ave. and is developing the property at the former military base into into what it is calling its enterprise headquarters.

Applications being accepted for Philadelphia's new police oversight commission



Philadelphia residents can apply to be part of the Citizen Police Oversight Commission, the new independent watchdog board tasked with investigating the Philadelphia Police Department police department and its officers. The deadline to apply is Nov. 5, 2021. Applicants must be Philly residents and cannot have served as a police officer in the city for at least five years. Current members a municipal or state police union and those who belong to those unions during the past five years will also not be eligible.

PECO, Exelon create $250K relief fund for communities impacted by Hurricane Ida



PECO and Exelon launched a $250,000 storm recovery fund for Southeastern Pennsylvanian communities impacted by the remnants of Hurricane Ida. Damages to public infrastructure totaled $117 million in Pennsylvania, including at least $27 million in Philadelphia, Gov. Tom Wolf said.
