Demolition permits issued for Fishtown's historic St. Laurentius Church



Philadelphia’s Department of Licenses & Inspections issued demolition permits for St. Laurentius Roman Catholic Church in Fishtown, a historic 19th century structure that has been the subject of intense preservation efforts and local infighting since the building closed in 2014. Demolition of St. Laurentius could begin as soon as November.

The Giant at Riverwalk supermarket in Center City, Philadelphia, reopens Saturday morning for the first time since it was flooded by storms from Hurricane Ida a month ago. Roommate of ex-Eagles player Mychal Kendricks found guilty of insider trading



Mark Ramsey, the onetime roommate of ex-Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Mychal Kendricks, was convicted Wednesday of participating in an insider trading scheme that earned both men earn almost $1.2 million in 2014. Kendricks, also charged in the investigation, pleaded guilty in 2018.

Philly native captures alligator outside Florida home, video goes viral



Philadelphia native Eugene Bozzi used a trash can to capture an alligator that was outside his home in Mount Dora, Florida, on Tuesday. Video of the confrontation with the giant reptile were posted to social media. The alligator was unharmed and released by Bozzi, and Army veteran, into a nearby pond
